I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see what these two fashionable ladies will wear for their weddings. Model Anja Rubik (pictured left) got engaged to boyfriend Sasha Knezevic on Christmas Eve in Vienna (how romantic!). Around the same time Petra Nemcova (pictured right) agreed to marry boyfriend Jamie Belman. I wonder if Petra will go for a one-shoulder Grecian gown like she’s wearing in this picture? It looks totally dreamy and bridal-appropriate!

As you’ve probably heard by now, Canadian singer Shania Twain said “I do” to Frédéric Thiebaud in Puerto Rico on New Year’s Day. The couple exchanged vows in front of 40 of their closest friends and family. Shania wore a gown she found in a small boutique hear her home in Lausanne, Switzerland and paired the dress with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Calvin Klein shoes. Her nine-year-old son Eja, walked her down the aisle and shooting the big day was photographer Robert Evans, who also shot the weddings of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, as well as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Wedding Belle: Pretty in Pink

Bride: Linda Luu
Wedding Date: August 15, 2009
Wedding Location:
Ottawa, Ontario
Wedding Style:
Looking every bit like a fairytale princess, Linda wore an extraordinary a-line strapless white gown that ruffled out at her waist, cascading down into a long, and stunning train. With her lovely locks done up in a casual updo, a single bright pink daisy was tucked behind her ear. Decorating her neck was a lovely double-stranded necklace, and pearl earrings dangled from her ears. Holding on to a pretty bouquet of pink orchids, the glowing bride kept her wedding day make up feminine and soft.

Wedding Do: Find Your Perfect Cake

planning » planning » Wedding Cakes

As a big wedding cake fan, I urge you to choose the perfect cake. When I say perfect, I mean in the sense of picking a confection that “perfectly” matches your style, personality and, of course, your budget. A three-tier classic white cake may be beautiful, but if it’s not your style then why go there? Don’t be afraid to ask your cake designer for a different colour, or even an alternative to cake (cupcakes and cookies are huge alternatives). One of my favourite cake features was a slideshow that we created entitled “Inspiring Wedding Cakes” where we showcased 26 beautiful confections (including the one pictured left) that graced the tables of our 25th anniversary bash last year. Confections varied from simple and chic to more luxurious and extravagant creations. Start perusing through there and be sure to check out our entire cake section for more fun and inspiring ideas.
